Ingredients

Scale

Sauce

  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Vegetables

  • 1 large red bell pepper
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1/2 bunch green onions
  • 1/2 small cabbage head
  • 1/2 large yellow onion

Protein

  • 1 lb boneless chicken

Others

  • 1 tbsp oil (avocado or olive oil)
  • 16 oz yakisoba noodles

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine the sugar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well until all ingredients are fully mixed. Set the sauce aside while you prepare the rest.
  2. Prepare the vegetables: Wash and chop the red bell pepper, carrot, green onions, cabbage, and yellow onion to your preferred size. This allows even cooking and easy eating.
  3. Preheat and cook noodles: If your yakisoba noodles require preheating or cooking according to the package instructions, do so now. Drain and set aside once ready.
  4. Sauté vegetables: Heat a large pan or skillet over high heat with a small amount of oil. Cook each vegetable separately for a few minutes until they develop a golden color while still retaining some crunch. Remove each vegetable and set aside.
  5. Cook the chicken: In the same oiled skillet or pan, add the boneless chicken pieces and cook on medium-high heat until all sides turn golden brown and the chicken is fully cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  6. Combine veggies and sauce: Add the sautéed vegetables back into the pan with the cooked chicken. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and stir well to coat evenly.
  7. Add the noodles: Incorporate the cooked yakisoba noodles into the pan with the chicken, vegetables, and sauce. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the noodles to absorb the flavors and heat through.
  8. Serve: Once everything is hot and combined, transfer the yakisoba to plates and serve immediately for a delicious meal.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp for different protein options.
  • Adjust the sauce quantities to taste if you prefer a sweeter or tangier flavor.
  • For extra heat, add a pinch of chili flakes or drizzle with sriracha before serving.
  • Using a large pan or wok helps to cook ingredients evenly and prevents overcrowding.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated on the stovetop or microwave.
